4 TRICKS FOR GLOWING SKIN
Living in the desert has really taught me about skin care in a whole new way. It's very dry here in Sedona where I live. Even my husband is putting on lotion all day long. It can seem like a hopeless battle trying to moisturize and hydrate really scaly, cracked and dry skin. Living in dry areas can age us prematurely and dehydrate our whole system if we don't take the right care. All of us know that we should be drinking water, this is still true! I try to get my 8 glasses in everyday.... But there are a few more things you can do beyond water that will really help hydrate you system and your skin.
my favorite 4 ways of staying very hydrated and caring for my skin
JUICE. I bet you didn't see this one coming! A big reason why I'm in the business of juice is because I have seen it's amazing effects on my body and countless others. Drinking juice is a delicious way to get hydrated while also getting a multitude of enzymes and minerals that support cellular function, help with anti-aging and allow full body hydration. My favorite blend right now is our Soul Fire: cucumber, cilantro, ginger and pineapple! Totally energizing for the skin and organs.
EAT HYDRATION. Eating foods high in water such as cucumbers, salad greens, watermelons, radish and citrus. I love the ladies at Sakara Life, they really are on to something with their tag line "eat your water". Filling up on hydrating foods give your body that extra boost of hydration along with healthy fiber and nutrition. Smoothies (my favorite meals!) are a great way to get both hydration and loaded nutrients to fuel your day and body!
OIL UP. I use organic sesame oil (not toasted) mixed with water to hydrate my skin. I rub down twice a day in the morning and in the evening. I find that this really helps my skin stay moist, supple and glowing.
SKIN BRUSH. Using a skin brush to remove old dead skin and stimulate the lymph system is my favorite way to get glowing skin quick. Always brush toward the heart, spend a little more time behind the knees where toxins like to build up.
